Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kigali, Drive to Bwindi (via Cyanika/Katuna)

Meet in Kigali. Optional short Kigali city highlights (time-permitting). Cross into Uganda via Cyanika or Katuna border and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Arrive at your forest lodge with views over the canopy. Evening briefing on gorilla trekking.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Early briefing and trek into Bwindi’s ancient rainforest to meet a habituated mountain gorilla family. Spend a magical hour observing silverbacks, mothers and infants. Afternoon at leisure or optional community walk.

Day 3: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions, Queen Elizabeth NP

Drive north to the Ishasha sector. Game drive under giant fig trees searching for the famed tree-climbing lions, plus elephants and topis. Continue to the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP.

Day 4: Kasenyi Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Sunrise game drive on the Kasenyi plains for lions, elephants and large herds. Afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel with hippos, crocodiles, elephants and prolific birds.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale via Crater Lakes

Scenic transfer to Kibale Forest through the Ndali–Kasenda crater lakes. Optional Bigodi Wetland walk for primates and birds in the afternoon.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale (or Habituation)

Morning chimpanzee tracking with expert rangers. Watch them feed, groom and move through the canopy. Option to upgrade to the longer Chimpanzee Habituation Experience (on request). Afternoon at leisure.

Day 7: Return to Bwindi region or Lake Bunyonyi (Break the Drive)

Begin the return south toward Rwanda. Overnight near Lake Bunyonyi for serene views and optional canoeing, or nearer Bwindi depending on routing for tomorrow’s Kigali transfer.

Day 8: Cross to Kigali & Departure

Cross back into Rwanda and proceed to Kigali. Depending on flight time, consider the Kigali Genocide Memorial (time-permitting) before drop-off at Kigali International Airport.
